Troubleshoot And Repair Garage Door Openers

Close Limit Switch Issues If your cheap garage door does not completely close, reverses before closing completely, or the motor won’t stop running, you may need to check your close limit switch. Some manufacturers provide well-labeled switches and springs, and others don’t. The location varies, but if you look around and inside the opener’s box, you should be able to find what you’re looking for. Always disconnect the power source before opening or adjusting the box. Power Outages Several companies sell emergency release kits, which can be fitted very easily on your garage entry point. The purpose of these kits is to allow entry (by key) to the vehicle storage area during a power outage (or if your programmed opener loses power for some other reason). This is the best way to gain entry into your parking lot in the event of a power outage if you normally rely on an electric component.
